The Sturmgewehr 44 short StG 44 sometimes MP 43, was first German assault rifle. Prized and reliable, firing accurately in single-shot to 500 metres, or at 500 rpm in automatic mode.
In Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, the StG can fire in two modes, single shot and automatic. While the single shot mode is good for long range fightings the automatic mode is more useful on medium and short fighting distances. In single shot mode the StG44 is very accurate, nearly as accurate as the German or Soviet rifles. In addition, the STG44's slow rate of automatic fire makes the gun a bit easier to control than the Russian submachine guns in close range fighting.
